Personalized Searching: PubMed (My NCBI)

Earlier this year, NCBI announced a big change in the way users log into NCBI resources (MyNCBI, SciENcv, or MyBibliography, etc.) If you created your own NCBI account in the past, you will have to switch to a new method of authentication. NCBI accounts will no longer be accessible after June 1, 2021.

The good news is that you have a variety of different login options to choose from, including eRA Commons, ORCiD, Google, Login.gov, and your Einstein AD credentials.

• To login with your Einstein AD credentials, just click “more login options” and search for Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

• In order to maintain your Saved Searches, Collections, My Bibliography, or biosketches created with SciENcv, you can easily merge your old NCBI account with your new authentication method. Follow these steps:

1. Sign in directly to NCBI with your NCBI username and password.
2. Click your username, which is located on the top right of the browser page.
3. In the Linked Accounts box, click Change.
4. Locate the type of account you want to use (ORCiD, eRA Commons, Einstein, Google, etc.) using the search bar.
5. You will be transferred to the 3rd party’s sign in page where you can enter your credentials.
