MEDLINEPlus: Drugs, Herbs and Supplements
Information about prescription drugs and over-the-counter medicines. Includes side effects, dosage, special precautions, and more.
Also includes information about dietary supplements and herbal remedies, including their effectiveness, usual dosage, and drug interactions.
The National Library of Medicine retired its "Pillbox" website in January 2021. This site contains much of the same information.

Prescription Drug Prices in New York State
The New York State Board of Pharmacy publishes an annual list of the 150 most frequently prescribed drugs, in the most common quantities.

The Library has an online subscription to the Medical Letter on Drugs and Therapeutics and Treatment Guidelines from the Medical Letter. The publication relies on a consensus of experts to evaluate the drug facts in order to help prescribers choose the most effective drug treatment.
